Applications are over for this year. Thank you!
Sup? We’re
Mia, Alex, and Clement
, and we’re the execs of ActOut, a social justice-themed initiative that aims to provide you (students) with a deeper understanding of various global social issues through experiential learning, and help guide you in creating change.
Last year this took the form of an in-class “migration simulation” run in Ms. Levere’s Civics class and Mr. Cook’s World Issues class, in which we reproduced the conditions of rural vs. urban life in Northern India. (
You can check it out here
). It was really successful, so this year we’re looking for more people to help us further our success.
Please fill out these questions so we can know a bit more about you and what you can contribute to AO. Our application season concluded on October 23rd, but if you're really interested, we're looking to accommodate. Email us up and let us know if you want to apply. Thanks!
This year we've decided to branch off into three teams:
the creative team
, which generates ideas;
the knowledge team
, which generates research; and
the artistic team
, which generates visuals and materials. Teams will be flexible, often co-operating and cross-pollinating.
What's your name?
*
That being said, please rank the three teams in order of choice. What could you contribute to your first choice team based on your skills/experience?
*
Tell us about a world issue you feel strongly about and why it has yet to be resolved.
*
We’re looking for dedicated people, so we’d like to know what other co-curricular activities you’re involved in. Please list them here, giving an indication of your time commitment to each:
*
Let’s say your friend is indifferent about the issue you just talked about. How would you help them to care more, or convince them that the issue really is worth talking/doing something about? This could be anything (well, within reason).

Nice work
